Marking Your Milestones
Memoir/Life Story Writing Classes

Your life stories…two pages at a time

Are you interested in writing about your life but don’t know where to start?

Do you desire to create a collection of meaningful life stories to share with family and friends?

Are you ready to explore and process your life events?

Do you think you’re a bad writer or you just don’t like writing?

Does your life seem too busy to add something else?

Marking Your Milestones live, on-line classes can help with all that.

These classes use Guided AutoBiography (GAB for short) which provides a series of life themes – like major branching points in life, the role of money, and careers – to stir memories and present them as precious threads in the tapestry of our lives.

Writing your own life stories is easy, fun, and fulfilling because you’re writing about things you want to write about, and the stories are ones you know.  And nearly everyone who participates in life story writing classes discovers they aren’t the bad writers they thought they were. Plus with the recommended two pages per story, the time commitment is small.

Each weekly session includes:

  • a theme to write about
  • creative exercises to get memories flowing and to add richness to your stories
  • a time for sharing a recent story with your classmates, along with gentle feedback (But no one will take a virtual red pen to your writing. This isn’t school!)

Want to give the GAB method a try for free? Sign up for my newsletter, and I’ll send you my free e-book Write Your First Life Story Today which includes an exclusive GAB theme.

Marking Your Milestones classes meet on Zoom once a week for 5 weeks. Each session is about 60-90 minutes long, depending on class size.

Your at-home writing time will vary, but a few hours each week is a reasonable amount of time to allow.

At the end of the class session, you’ll have 5 stories about your life to share with family and friends or keep for your eyes only. Plus you’ll have ideas for more since each theme will bring more than one story to mind.

Writing life stories using GAB is easy and fun, and the minimal time commitment brings big results.
