Mother’s Day 1980

Share
Professional photo of middle aged couple; brunette woman in grey 2-piece dress and salt-n-pepper haired man in pale grey suit and navy tie.

My parents, Charlie and Gladys Heiser, about 1980

On Mother’s Day in 1980, my mom, Gladys MARTIN HEISER, turned the table on my dad, Charlie, and gave him a Mother’s Day card.

She wrote a touching poem, and created artwork for the front of the card that represented things in our yard like the green metal shed, the apple tree, and my dad’s green lounge chair.

Hand drawn cover of Mother's Day card showing apple tree, green shed, green lounge chair and the words "To My Husband on Mother's Day'; all artwork in colored pencil.
